Don't fear let stop you from accomplishing your goals and dreams!
These past few months have been quite overwhelming and scary with the pandemic and all that has been going on in this world. On a positive note, I'm so glad that summer is now here and that home schooling for the kids has now ended until the fall; however, there are still so many uncertainties that come as a result.
As I sit and ponder about the "new normal" and how our lives will change as a result of Covid-19, it is so easy to be worried and stressed out thinking about the unknowns. This is where fear and anxiety can creep in as we continue to wonder what the future holds.
Fear is a natural, yet powerful emotion triggered by the belief that we are in the presence of danger or the threat of harm. Being fearful and afraid often leads to anxiety, especially when we are thinking about things that haven't happened yet or may never happen. The powerful force of each emotion causes our body to fall into a stress response state. This could include increased heart rate or trouble breathing.
Living with fear, anxiety, and stress can be very hard on the body and is harmful to your health. These emotions are not simple, nor easy to deal with; therefore, it is useful to understand the importance of being able to identify what is causing you to live in fear, anxiety and stress mode, and more importantly, how to manage it.
When we put ourselves into fear, anxiety and stress induced states, we sometimes forget that we have the power to control it. There are many ways to control your thoughts and respond positively to your harmful emotions. Taking deep breaths, listening to music and/or inspirational videos, reading positive material or going for a walk are just a few, but they all play a part in your ability to control what is going on in your head.
"Fear" doesn't truly exist unless you allow it. Fear is also defined as: "False Evidence Appearing Real." The great news however, is that you, yourself, have the ability to control your thoughts; therefore, you have the ability to decide on how you respond and/or react to things that are happening beyond your control.
Choose your thoughts wisely for they do have the power to create your reality. Focus on what's good and great in your life, and even when things don't go according to your plan, trust that God and/or the Universe has a greater plan! Instead of asking yourself, "Why me?" Ask yourself, "Why not me?!" Because you are strong enough, capable enough and powerful enough to overcome any situation that may be thrown at you. You just have to truly believe it, to receive it.
The truth is, once you are able to master your thoughts and use them to inspire, motivate and empower you, only then, will you be able to transform fear and anxiety into a healthier, wealthier and happier you!
